U.S. stock and bond markets will shut down for the first time since New Year’s Day on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, honoring the civil rights leader’s legacy. The holiday falls on the third Monday of January, though King’s birthday is Jan. 15. Normal trading resumes Tuesday.
